Well, it's over. All good things come to an end, and the Prep course was no exception. We all put on our brightest smiles and went to the farewell party. We had dinner, listened to the most hilarious speeches, and enjoyed each others company for one more night. After dinner, we hit the dance floor and danced our brains out. And some of us danced after their brains were out!
The next day; Good bye day; we all attended class one more time. We evaluated the course, laughed (something we did plenty of in Hadeland), and played some more games. Then we all formed a circle, a symbol of our bond and let out our feelings for one another. We held each other tight, knowing that it's a matter of minutes before we go in different directions, before we walk the path that united us in the first place, knowing that we might not see each other again, or at least not soon. We held each other, cried on each others shoulders, and prayed that a day will come, when we can meet again.
Yes, we were a family, and we will continue to be a family. This is only the beginning of our relationship. The bond we have will have to stand the test of time and space. We are all positioned in different countries, and those of us who are in one country, are positioned in different cities. Missing them will be hard, because it already is.
I'm gonna miss Peter L's unconditional acceptance, Richard's practicality, Somboun's award winning acting talent, Signe's questions, Bright's brightness, Simon's fooling around, John's "blue-ness", Christina's feminism, Zeze's creativity, Belito's dance lessons, Amade's multi-talent, Karl's intellect, Pernille's earthiness, Elena's sense of humor, Joachim's silent wisdom, Joseph's innocence, Omar's comments, Fatima's salsa, Katy's belly dance, Andre's heart of gold, Kristin's warmth, Peter H's hilarious speeches and sarcasm, Arif's technical support, Lillian's kindliness, Marit's straightforwardness, Kine's driving, Ingrid's getting us lost, and I'm sure that we all will miss Marianne's contagious laugh.
Prep course participants of November 2009 Hadeland, I miss you so much it hurts. I love you all.
